THE MAKE A FISH FOUNDATION

This fundraising effort is to raise money to buy a vehicle for The Make A Fish Foundation. We are looking to be be back for the 2014 season, helping people find their inner artists at festivals, art walks and other events.

Before the Make A Fish Foundation took a hiatus due to parental repsonsibilities, the one thing we needed was a dedicated vehicle that is ready to create at a minutes notice. Using my personal car was not working, loading and unloading all the time....

I found the perfect vehicle for the Foundation,a 1995 perfect UHaul truck. Ford F350, 180K miles with a spotless maintenance record. Everything works and works well. New tires, air conditioner, hitch, lights etc.....

Why this vehicle, you ask? The side walls, front, top, door create a great big canvas for people to paint on. And draw on. The vehicle becomes the advertising and the attraction factor to gather people wherever we go. We can put our logos and tessellation on it. The idea is to create a wonderful art car that is a functional art studio.

it is spacious with storage and we can create some type of portable work space inside so we can do things in parks during the winter months.. the design will be so everything rolls off on the ramp (Which makes it nice for ADA Compliance) and we can be set up, at any type event, in minutes.

ABOUT THE MAKE A FISH FOUNDATION

We are an arts collective dedicated to bringing the opportunity to create art to people. We put the brush in people's hands, in other words, at music festivals, art walks, street fairs, family events by offering a collaborative art project in various mediums involving all attendees if possible.

We also do our work at Homeless shelters and parks and public random places, where ever people are we try to be there for them..

We also provide instruction on individual art mediums including physical arts such as juggling, poi swinging and hula hooping.

Too many times we hear (or have said) "I'm not an artist" or" I haven't created any art since school" We try to bring that out by bringing a fun, "here try it out" to people. When coupled with live music playing nearby and people become inspired.

Festival patrons have painted cars, market umbrellas and large canvases at the events we have attended.

We have created large paper mache' art, day glo aquariums and large mosaic projects at these events as well..

We also offer some basic percussion instruments for some lessons at events (Timed, of course, to not interfere with the artists on stage or late night).

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

To the guy that owns the vehicle.

TOTAL $3,200
