Outdoor Inline Hockey Repair Fund

We are a group of people from the Metro Detroit hockey community that plays outdoors at a rink called "Harding Park." It is located in Ferndale, Michigan. The rink itself is about 3/4 the size of a regulation roller hockey rink with indoor tile as the playing surface. The City of Ferndale does not have the budget to maintain the rink anymore. So, there are many problems that need to be adressed to make this once superb playing surface safe again and that is where we come in. Us people on the Harding Inline Hockey Facebook page have come up with ideas and ways to fix the many problems. Things such as, replacing the fencing that sticks out onto the surface behind each net (for players safety) , to replacing the broken boards and kickplates, to replacing and maintaing the nets that are broken from years of abuse and use, etc.

The flooring itself was installed quite some time ago and warps in the summer sun, causing pucks to bounce up, hitting other players in the shins and other areas.

We would like to keep this place up and running and safe for generations to come as it is an inexpensive way to play this amazing sport we call hockey. We all know it's very expensive to play in organized leagues and it takes a lot of time and committment. Harding Park is a great way for people of all ages to come out and shoot around, play pick up games, or even learn to play the game.

(That "Harding Hockey"  sign isn't actually there, it's an idea we had to add it to the rink.)
