Area Agency on Aging

The Area Agency on Aging needs the Community’s help to fund home delivered meals, homemaker and respite care services to the most vulnerable elderly in our area.  Over the past year, the agency has seen a 54 % increase in calls for service to the elderly, and now we have to turn away all new potential clients for those in-home services because of the lack of funds.  Our mission is to keep as many elderly people in their homes as possible, and we feel if we do not fundraise with the community at this critical juncture, many of these people will go without food, ration their medications to purchase food or become critically ill and be admitted to a skilled nursing facility prematurely.  Will you join us in our fundraising efforts and donate as little or as much towards this worthy cause?  Our need is so great that all funds raised will be used for direct services to the elderly.



What is an Area Agency on Aging?
We are a private, non-profit organization under the auspices of the Southeast Idaho Council of Governments in Pocatello which provides state and federal money for in-home services to our elderly in southeast Idaho.  There are over 30,000 elderly (60+) in the seven southeast Idaho counties (9400 square miles), and with the territory being as rural as it is, we rely on individuals, families, caregivers and community partners to assist us with the elderly’s needs.  But we need your help and assistance now to continue our service program, especially the home delivered meals.
