Save Jasmines life

We have had Jasmine since she was born. 

A few weeks ago, we noticed that Jasmine was having trouble walking. When I went to pick her up, she started crying. I noticed there was a large swelling around where her tail starts.

We took her to the vet. We found out at that time, that she was having trouble 'going number two' so they gave her some seditives and manualy extracted her poop. 

We thought from that moment that everything is ok. A few days later, we noticed Jasmine throwing up a lot. Some of it contained blood. 

We rushed her to emergency. After 9 hours we were told Jasmine has Chronic Renal Failure. She is in such an advanced stage, that she is required to have a Kidney Transplant or she will die. 

We were told that these costs for the surgery, including all screening tests, extended hospital care, postoperative maintenance & medications could range from $7,000 to $15,000, with the university facilities being at the lower cost and the private facilities at the higher cost.

The surgery itself will last about 4 - 5 hours, and costs between $6,000 and $8,000.

We also need Cyclosporine, which is the anti-rejection medication that must be given daily for the rest of Jasmines life, and it costs about $400 per bottle, which will last from two to three months.

The costs for us have already surpassed $3700 and we simply just cannot afford to have the surgery done. We have a donor in place, but we do not have the funds to make this happen. 

UPDATE - Feb 11/15

At this moment, we just need an additional $7000 for the Surgery.

We found a Animal Hospital in Edmonton that will sell us a years worth of Cyclosporine to help get us started at a fraction of the original costs. So instead of this being a $2400/year cost.. it will now only be $800, which is aboslutely amazing.  

We were also able to sell a few items around the house today to total $3375. We also made arrangements to have the surgery at a facility in Calgary which will be much less expensive then our original assessment of the overall costs.
