Save Lucky and T-Bone

These donations will go to the 501c3 rescue that pulls, the fosters that house, and the vet that treats these babies. Any excess amounts will be donated to Robinson's Rescue for their rescue spay/neuter fund.
On March 6th, 2015, concerned citizens called Caddo Parish Animal Control to remove seize an emaciated dog from a residence on Powell Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. Animal Control came out, spoke with the resident and told them they had 24 hours to correct the dog's living condition or turn them over to the shelter, or that they would be arrested on charges of animal cruelty.
On March 8th, 2015, the dog was still chained up with no shelter and no comfort. He was visibly suffering. A caring citizen called the police, parked down the street and waited for results. Three patrol cars responded and got animal control back out there (roughly 24 hours after the deadline that was given by them to the resident 48 hours prior). This time was successful. It was discovered that this dog was not the only dog in the home; there was another dog roughly the same size, also emaciated. Both animals were taken to the shelter by animal control. No charges were brought to the owner.
The public, over the course of the three days, grew very concerned and more and more people became involved in their seizure. We knew that Caddo Parish Animal Services (that has a euthanasia rate of more than 72%) would have killed these dogs in the condition they were in, so we had dozens of people calling them bright and early on Monday morning (March 9th, 2015) to ensure them that we knew about the dogs, that we had a rescue ready to take them in and fosters ready to house them.
It is at this point that their director, Everett Harris, sees an opportunity. He has a horrible reputation, and rightfully so. He then decided that he would try to be their savior and rehab them himself, at the shelter.
He held a press conference on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 on this matter (link for video below).
Dogs who are emaciated and severly malnourished, as are Lucky and T-Bone, have very weak immune systems and are susceptible to a numer of illnesses that are in animal shelters, including (but not limited to) Parvo, kennel cough, Giardia, Coccidia, etc. Not only this, but a very reliable witness saw these two dogs OUTSIDE behind held in stray-hold, with strays in the cages on either side of them. They did not have a bed, a blanket, or any heat source. There was nothing in there but the two of them and their food bowls.
We need the publics help to not only raise awareness to Everett Harris' inhumane and selfish practices, but also to raise funds for Lucky and T-Bone's care. They both are heartworm positive, have hookworms and whipworms. They are skin and bones and have likely not had much of the right kind of human interaction. They need a proper facility to care for these dogs and rehabilitate these dogs, things that the shelter cannot provide them.
With these funds we will be able to prove to Everett Harris that he doesn't need to waste taxpayers' dollars on these two particular dogs because the funds are already in place, so he can be the savior for other dogs with the money he would've spent on Lucky and T-Bone. This will be a huge step in the right direction for making changes to a shelter that has for so long hidden too much from the public and been unwilling to help in most cases. We want transparency. We demand change!
