Please help me move to safe housing. I've been abused by my parents since I was a child. When I went off to college, I was finally able to get away, but I had no support in providing for myself or paying for my education. I worked two jobs, more than 50 hours per week, and took 18 hours worth of classes. Eventually, stress got the best of me and I burnt out.
At the end of last year, my parents offered to let me move back in so that I wouldn't have to work as much and I could focus on school. This was the first time they offered to help me with anything since I'd started school almost 4 years earlier. I jumped at the chance and broke my lease, cancelled my utilities and moved back in which cost me almost $2500.
Since moving back in, the abuse began again and my physical and mental health have taken a severe hit. I have an autoimmune disease that has been exacerbated by the stress of living like this. All the progress I'd made in my recovery has been completely reverted in the short time I've been in my parents' house. When I move out, I plan on having a roommate to help cut down on costs so that I can live on my own again, focus on my recovery, and not have to work as much as I did before.
Here's where I'm asking for help: I need to raise money to move out as soon as possible. I'm not comfortable discussing the specifics of my abuse but it's been mainly verbal, psychological, and physical. Last night, one of my parents tried to choke me.
The $4000 will help me find secure housing in the following ways: immediate housing in a hotel or shelter, apartment deposit, application fee, moving truck rental for a weekend, moving boxes and supplies (paying a few neighbors to help move furniture as well),water and electricity (utility deposit and connection fee), cleaning fee, pro rated rent, and helping to cover expenses while I find a roommate.
Please help me take my life back.
Thank you you so much to everyone for all the support and encouragement you've given me through this.
