With the success of Locals Covering Locals Volume 1, an effort to quickly launch into Volume 2 was undertaken. 11 new artists covering 11 new songs from local, indepdent songwriters that they respect.
As this has become a community project, I am reaching out to the community for support. In an effort to keep this music free and available for everyone 'a little help from our friends' is always appreciated! As there are no profits to be made from Red Line Roots and all funds go directly to the project, it can be difficult to find those funds without assistance.
But alas, I would be remiss if I was not able to offer the wonderful people who support Red Line Roots and our efforts to give you great, locally curated music at least something so I am happy to announce that we will be offering chances for your to take home some great stuff with every donation you make to this project.
For a $5 donation to the recording project you will be entered for a chance to score:
-1 of 10 original local music themed photo 5X7 print from Red Line Roots Photography (http://www.redlineroots.com/rlr-photography/)
-or 1, $75 dollar gift card to Club Passim in Harvard Square (http://www.clubpassim.org/calendar)
-or 1, $25 dollar gift card to Grafton Restaurants (Russell House, Grafton Pub, Temple Bar, Park) *restrictions apply
For each $10 donation (1 chance) to the recording project you will be entered for a chance to take home a The Loar LO-16 acoustic guitar and Guardian hardshell case (valued at $500). http://www.theloar.com/products/small-body-acoustic-guitars/small-body-lo-16
-also, each $10 donation will be entered to win a photo session by Red Line Roots photography (within 30 miles of Boston). Could be used for a live show shoot, band shots, or video work. (Package worth ~$350)
Each $10 donation will count as one chance (so $20 = 2, $40 = 4, etc.) For $15, $25, you get 1 guitar chance and 1 photo chance or 2 guitar chances and 1 photo chance and so on.
The hope is to reach $1500 with this fundraising effort...of course, more means more volumes of the project and more wonderful local music! A certain percentage will be donated to Sweet Paws Rescue (taking note from our good friend Jason Dunn and his Boston Does Boston project and giving back to the animals).
