Tanzania is my chance to learn more of this world, from the ferocious beauty of its African plains to the indefatigable humanity of its inhabitants. In the prose of Swahili, mimi ni mwanafunzi (I am a student) and I, with a zest for daily living and an adventurous heart, want to learn.

I will be adventuring in Tanzania for 9 weeks this summer to study wildlife biology, management, conservation, and field research.

My adventures and studies will be conducted from a base camp on the Maasai steppe. In addition to daily lectures, I will be learning Kiswahili at night, volunteering with local villages, and conducting field research in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Manyara, and Tarangire ecosystems.
The money raised through this GoFundMe will cover the following expenses that my job and my tuition grant were unable to cover:
          - airfare 
          - travel visa and passport
          - malaria medication
          - vaccines (typhoid, yellow fever)
          - textbooks
          - living expenses
