Lil Bit, Female Doxie Back Issue

Lil Bit is our precious bossy little lady! She is 4 years old and has been our ball of fire and spunk til this nightmare!
It all started last week for Lil Bit 7/29/15,. We woke up to her just laying around, fever, panting and not wanting to move, eat or drink. She would just cry out and as a pet parent, it's like a knife in your hurt, your fur baby hurts and you have no clue why.
We brought her in to our regular vet who said she may have a big and her back in tense. Gave her shots and mess and sent us home and said she will feel better tomorrow. Tomorrow came but her feeling better did not! My husband said to bring her to another vet and off we went. Doc Gabbie knew right away w are looking at pinched disk plus after showing her the mess that Doc #1 gave us, she liked to have hit the floor! Doc #1 gave us a single dosage of Prednisone for a 40lb dog. Our Lil Bit only weighs in at 12 1/2lbs!!
Doc Gabbie informed us to not let her walk, crate her other than warm water baths and potty breaks, Prednisone, Antibiotic, Vitamins, and Morphine. We did as she said.
Today 8/5, we come home, take our sweet baby out to potty and the horror hit us, Lil Bit is dragging her rear legs, panting and sits to potty! My heart is broken now, I can't do anymore to help her on my own! We called Doc Gabbie and she said not to waste time and get her into a Surgeon for consult!
I write this on my way with Lil Bit to LSU Veternarian School. They called and said to " get in now, don't waste precious time, but BTW, if we have to do surgery and it can start at $3500 and up"! My heart hurts, I don't have that kind of money and I have never had to ask for this type of help! Without help, my choices are limited in what I can do for our Lil Bit!
If tears turned into money right now, we would be ok!
Thank you all for your help and prayers! I will keep everyone updated as we go thru this ordeal!
