TEAM SABLE believing in a cure

Hi, my name is Lauri B., I am Sable Ann Farmer's mom.  Sable was born on March 2, 2002; when she was six months old she received her six months required immunization's, with in 48 hours she had a severe reaction and started projectile vomiting and severe diarrhea.  Sable spent the next month in two different hospitals trying to fix her issues from the reactions.   We almost lost her during this process.

In February of 2007 she sat by her father's bedside and help his hand as he passed away from cancer.  In August of 2007 she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.  She has struggled with her blood sugars and her body rejecting the different types of insulin.  Her spline and Liver continue to give her problems as a result of the diabetes.  A few years later she was diagnosed with 'MNGIE' a very rare disease that affects the muscles and digestive system.  Sable struggles to gain weight and muscle, she also has joint pains, some days she needs the use of a wheel chair when a lot of walking is required.  Reported cases of "MNGIE" has only roughly 70 reported cases.  Sable has failure to thrive, heart problems, liver, spline, kidney and recently diagnosed with celiac disease, just to name a few.  Sable has spent many times in and out of Devos Children's Hospital and now is at U of M Children's Hospital trying to get some answers on how to proceed with her life going forward.  Sable is participating in some research studies to try and figure out what may or may not work, when doctors try to start a fix with one of her illnesses it then can affect one of her other illnesses, very frustrating.  Sable weighs under 50 lbs, unless the doctors have her on IV fluids, she is 52 inches tall.

I lost my job, May 2014, a 27 year career, do to downsizing, plus I had a hospital stay in January 2014 that set me back thanks to blood clots in my lungs from some medications I was on prescribed by my doctor.  Later in the summer our van broke down, trying to decide to stick money into it at 220,000 miles on it or start looking for a replacement so that I can get Sable to her appointments.

We have expenses not covered by insurances piling up, getting a reliable vehicle, we would be most grateful if anyone would be able to help us in our time of need.  God's Blessing to one and all.  Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
