On Tuesday, February 3rd it was announced that Mater Dei Prep would close its doors due to a financial deficit as of June 2015.
Within hours of the announcement, Emily Morgan a Mater Dei Prep Junior from Keyport, New Jersey, created this Go Fund Me page. Emily, like her classmates and the 50 years of Seraphs ahead of her, was heartbroken by the announcement and wanted to make a difference.
The passionate Mater Dei Prep student body and staff took action and began a social media and fundraising campaign entitled “Save the Seraphs”. Seraphs across generations joined the movement and requested time to raise the one million dollars needed to keep the Mater Dei Prep doors open. Due to the love and passion of the Mater Dei Prep family, the time to raise funds was granted!
Now we need your help to keep the Seraph tradition alive for another 50 years and beyond!
Three Ways You Can Help “Save the Seraphs”:
1: Donate- Make a donation and ask others to donate
2. Volunteer- We need Seraphs across all the classes to get involved
3. Spread Seraph Pride- Share your Mater Dei Prep experiences why it’s so important to “Save the Seraphs”. Show your pride by wearing Mater Dei Prep blue and white.
