UPDATE: (Scroll down for donation options!!!)

After the first three month of Tibetan Studies in India I got the amazing chance to participate the new 6-year Study Program at TLWA (Tibetan Library of Works and Archives). The program discusses the basic Buddhist philosophy texts (e.g. collective topics) we have 2 hours of philosophy (in Tibetan) and one hour of Tibetan languages class (literal and colloquial) per day from Monday to Friday. This program is a wonderful opportunity and its the first time its is running at TLWA. We will learn all the basic text that are usually studied during the Shedra (Studies in a monastery) and hence hopefully have a wonderful foundation for becoming a translator of Buddhist philosophy in the future.

As a form of giving back for the generosity I have received so far, I started a webpage for German-speakers that would liek to learn Tibetan. As there are only very few resources for Germans to learn Tibetan to this date. Usually (as I am doing now) Germans have know English first and learn translation from Tibetan to English and than to German. My plan into post/blog about Tibetan language in German once per week. So any body who is interested can learn and inform him/herself about Tibetan language. Hopefully this will inspire more and more Germans to learn Tibetan and hence have a better access to dharma/ and dharma texts.

This is the webpage if you are interested:

ca. 600  EUR for Flight-Tickets and travel durung holidays.

ca. 4300 EUR
I will try to work on the side to cover expenses. At the moment I have a little drawing job :D

My former plan
 ...
is to participate in a 7-month Tibetan language course at Thosamling nunnery in the foothills of the Himalayas, just outside of Dharmasala, India. The course will start on 5th January 2015 and will run until July 2015. This well-reputed study program will give me an opportunity to dedicate myself full-time in Tibetan classical and colloquial language in order to give a strong grounding for future study, practice, and translation.

My goal ...
is to continue learning Tibetan in India and eventually become a translator of Buddhist texts. Tibetan is an endangered language and there are less and less qualified translators, thus it is of upmost importance that dedicated translators are well-trained in order to preserve this ancient wisdom tradition.

My wish ...
It is my greatest aspiration to travel to Dharamsala during this time in order to learn Tibetan and practice meditation, receive advice, and participate and observe traditional Buddhist rituals and rites in order to lay the ground for my future studies and practice.

Your donation...
I am excited for the next steps of this journey, and your contribution will make my studies, emersion, and practice possible. My aspiration is that my actions in this life will only support and preserve the wisdom tradition of Buddhism that can benefit countless beings, and your donation will make this possible.

About me and my Dharma...
I am Bolivian-German currently living in Berlin, Germany. As an anthropologist I was studying Ethnobotany for my Ph.D. My main study interests are perception, healing, Tibetan medicine, and Tibetan translation. In the past year I have been working on a Ph.D. in comparative healing practices and perspectives between Tibet and South America. For this purpose I had started to learn Tibetan and I really wish to deepen my knowledge to be more purposeful later on.

I took refuge with Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, and have been practicing meditation and Buddhist philosophy for more than 7 years at the Bodhicharya Berlin center. I been fortunate enough to receive teachings from masters of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Karmapa, His Holiness Sakya Trizin, and so forth. I am currently finishing the foundational practices of Tibetan Buddhism, known as Ngöndro, and now focusing mainly on Guru Yoga according to the Kagyu tradition. (The Tibetan Course in Thosamling will include a Lam Rim Course by Geshe Tsewang Nyima)
