Laughing at Cancer
Donation protected
July of 2015 we discovered that a canker sore in my mouth was actually squamos cell carcinoma of the buccal mucosa in the right trigone molar area which meant I had cancer of the cheek. I underwent 13 hours on the operating table where doctors took my jaw and replaced it with bone and transplanted tissue from my shoulder blade. I am in recovery phase but now am faced with out of pocket medical costs, copays, lost wages and deductibles. I am still faced with another operation this year. Read my story at caringbridge.org by searching my name (David Vance). Nancy and I chose to kick cancer's ass by using prayer and humor.
No that I am recovering I was allowed to see how much we owe. I went back to work and am coping well. If you donate to my cause I will create a pdf file of my journal and send it to you.
Thank you and God Bless. I have become an advocate and hope to volunteer at the hospital.
