At 12:30 AM, Wednesday, April 12th, 30 firefighters were called to a seniors housing complex in Langley due to an emergent fire. In spite of their best efforts the blaze eviscerated the third-floor suite and killed its trapped inhabitant. While contained to the apartment, 3 other buildings were evacuated, the residents of the other buildings being permitted to re-enter their homes later that night. The damage done by the fire however has resulted in the displacement of dozens of senior citizens. Many of the residents have been forced to leave their homes and find new accomadations. Some residents had to leave everything behind, turning to their community for support.
100% of all proceeds will go directly to the 67 residents displaced by the fire so that they may find a place to live, food, and other personal necessities in these extenuating circumstances. Any donation, no matter how small, can really a go a long way in helping get these people back on their feet ASAP. We hope, that with your help, we can spread awareness of this accident and come together to give back to those in their time of need.
