My name is Katrina Hill. I live in Louisville, MS. Over the past month I've been reporting an animal abuse case to the Winston County Sheriff's Department. They refuse to enforce the law SB2821, which was passed in 2011 to protect Mississippi's dogs and cats. Now , the dog is nowhere to be seen and the people I reported have filed harassment charges against me for reporting them. It's
vital that I prevail in this case. If I don't, no one will ever report abuse in this county again. I am collecting funds for attorney's fees to represent me as I defend this case then proceed to bring civil charges for animal abuse. I have retained an animal advocate attorney in Starkville, MS named Marty Haug. I have been advised by my fellow animal advocates to start this fund for legal fees. SB 2821 is a weak law protecting them, but it's still a law...and it's no good if it isn't enforced. We must be their voice.
