Wolf Needs Help, Crohn's Sucks

Donation protected

To those of you may not know me. My name is Frank Wolf Connell I go by Wolf and have for decades. I'm  a geek, nerd, social misfit, big brother  and husband to my amazing wife.

I'm a fixture at many Rennisance Faires I own the Balloon Fencing Game Wolf's Swordmasters with a regualr spot at the Florida Rennisance Festival. I've also been performing in The Rocky Horror Picture show for the better part of two and an half decades and run the shadow cast shows of Rocky Horror  and Repo The Genetic Opera at the Spooky Empire conventions in Orlando FL.

I've lived all over the country and attend many conventions like dragon con, star wars celebrations and spooky empire so if you're an oddball like me our paths may have crossed.

Here's the problem I'm currently facing  I've been suffering from Crohn's Disease for many years. I've been on just about every med available with limited results and I've been told by multiple Doctors that I need to have a Ileocolic Resection http://www.birminghambowelclinic.co.uk/treatments-ileocolic-resection/

The procedure isn't cheap and my Health Insurance isn't up to the task I have a large out of pocket co pay and there are a multitude of tests and scans that need to be done before the actual surgury. I'm at the point now that I need to have this done ASAP.  My flare ups are happening more often with an occurance at least once a week.

My week usually goes some thing like this Day 1 Horrific Diareaha with bloody discharges the kind that keep me in the bathroom for 4 - 6 hours fluctating between sitting on the toilet or siting in the bath tub. I tend to spike fevers during this process of 102 or so. Day 2 I sleep for 12 - 14 hours due to exhaustion Day 3 I'm a little better Day 4 is my functional day. Day 5 the consipation starts hurting Day 6 I'm cramped up and have trouble moving and we repeat the cycle. Now I give this example as a 7 day week the reality is sometimes these times can be doubled or trippled.

I've had to go into the hospital after being constipated for 3 weeks or more. I've also been hospitialized  for severe dehydration due to extreme boughts of diareaha on the opposite end of the spectrum. The medical bills are out ragous and unless I have a rupture all the ERs do is stablize me and refer me to specialisits I can't afford. This is no way to live.

I've been mostly house bound for the past two years luckly I can manage most of my business from home but every venture out bares the risk of having an episode where I may be confined to a bathroom for hours at a time, for example last year my wife and I were attending a friends wedding and I spent the entirty of it doubled over in a hotel lobby bathroom with my poor wife having to take care of me and make appologies, I've missed out on many social gatherings lately and unless I load of up on Imodium before going out it's a flip of a coin as to wheather or not I'll have a flare up.

My Wife does a great job of taking care of me by bringing me fluids to drink or helping me in and out of the bed or tub but a Young 27 year old woman shouldn't have to play 24/7 nurse maid to her 40 year old husband.

I'm on a shelf full of meds that help a bit with some of the symptoms but the benificial effects are diminishing. I'm hesitant to use heavier pain killers than the ones I already take as the tend to make some of the symptoms worse, The steroids have lead me to gain almost 70lbs over the past 2 years which is causiong other problems. It's just a seemingly un-ending struggle to stay a head of my symptoms for example as alluded to before if I load up on Imodium I can get a few days or even a week or so here and there where I can function but I'll pay for it on the back end no pun intended with extreme hemroid flare ups to go along with the usual painful bouts of diareaha and or cramps that make it hard to walk.

Bottom line is this surgury needs to happen sooner rather than later, I've been warned by my doctors that this will eventually kill me either by intestinal rupture, dehydration, stroke or heart attack. So I'm asking for your help.

We are making progress but it's costing us more than we can really afford. Because of your donations we were able to get a better insurance plan but its costing us $700 a month, we have a $10,000 max out of pocket but as you may know The CT Scans and Colonoscopy plus the blood work that needs to be done before the surgury itself is going to be a hurrdle to over come with out some help.

It won't be cheap but I'd really like to have my Life back and without this surgury things look pretty Grim I hope you'll be able to help my wife and I out.

I've always given to my friends on these type of things and I'm hoping a few of you are willing to help me in my time of need Thanks so much for your Love and support.
