Save Omen's big heart

Donation protected

About Omen:

Omen is a heeler/husky mix who I rescued from the animal shelter a little less than 6 years ago. He is between 7 and 8 years old. Age varies a lot between dogs, but he is relatively "young" and has not yet started to grey or slow down.
The shelter had placed Omen in the "problem dog" room due to the fact that they believed that he was food aggressive.

The second our eyes met it was love, and I took him home immediately.

Omen is not ANYTHING aggressive.

In fact: Omen has his Canine Good Citizen certification. He loves people and loves children (the younger the better!).

He's gentle, loving, kind, and strong. And over the years he's become a part of the community, not just my family.

What's Wrong?

Omen's heart is too big. Literally AND metaphorically.

Over the last month Omen has seen the inside of the vet clinic and pet emergency rooms countless times. I knew something was wrong with him, but he displayed no classic symptoms in order to diagnose him.

It wasn't until he was, as it turned out, hours away from death that we ascertained the cause of his discomfort: Fluid on the heart and in the abdomen. LOTS of fluid.

The fluid was drained and he went back to being a normal, happy boy.

Unfortunately the fluid is back and we are on our way to the cardiologist to try to find the cause of this repeated fluid buildup.

Costs:

Unfortunately I do not have a lot of money. This fundraiser is simply in order to cover the veterinary costs that I have accumulated.

Every single cent will go to Omen's veterinary costs.

I have spent my savings on this, my rent money, everything.

Nothing is more important to me than saving this dog. He has saved me countless times, and I will do everything I possibly can to save him. Unfortunately, I'm a poor college student and this has turned out to be EXTREMELY cost prohibitive. I can't wish and hope more money into my bank account so I turn to you, internet.

Please, please, help me save my best friend. Even a single dollar helps!

Please, if you cannot donate, link this to any of your friends who may have popular tumblrs/blogs/followings of any kind.

No words can express how special this dog is to me and to everyone who knows him.

Please help me save his life.
