My name is Susi and I originate from Indonesia. Most shockingly in Indonesia it is common for someone suffering from any mental health to be shunned by their family, as it is thought to bring shame, embarrassment and stigma upon them, especially for those who live in remote villages.
Some of the individuals are locked away in chains, and caged for many years. The victims of this barbaric treatment range from young children to elderly adults.
However an amazing charity organisation called ISTANA KSJ / KSJ PALACE run by a wonderful man called Nurhamid.
It is run solely on donations, without any other funding or help.
They provide care and assistance for people suffering with mental health issues. My Father is under their care as he is suffering from dementia and Schizophrenia, my family were unable to cope with his unpredictable behaviour. Without any social care or support readily available, it is extremely difficult for families to cope.
Since 2009 ISTANA KSJ have rescued more than 286 people that have been chained up, however with loving care KSJ have helped them return to normal life, without KSJ they would still be in chainsThe support team are all unpaid volunteers, and there are currently approximately forty people being sheltered and cared for at the KSJ home.
We need YOUR SUPPORT, to raise sufficient funds to provide ongoing care at the KSJ home, food and medication.
Any donation however small would be greatly appreciated. Please be assured all funds raised 100% goes directly to KSJ.
