Help Us Build A Koala Burns Unit
Donation protected
Southern Ash Wildlife Shelter is a non-profit organisation that operates in Rawson, Victoria. We specialise in the treatment and rehabilitation of injured/orphaned koalas. We are completely dependant upon public donations to help us afford the medication, veterinary care and supplementary food needed for the koalas in our care.
We are a dedicated team of volunteers doing all that we can to save and preserve this iconic, Australian animal.
In order to provide continual, hygienic, specialised treatment of koalas and other native wildlife we need to obtain a purpose-built hospital facility. This hospital will allow us to:
• Continue first class care of koalas & other wildlife
• Work as a specialized burns unit in times of crisis
• Enhance work experience opportunities
• Increase research & education opportunities on the medical treatment of koalas
Obtaining this hospital would not only mean the world to our team, but will allow us to work toward long term strategies to help sustain our koala and wildlife populations. With habitat loss and introduced diseases, such as chlamydia and mange, we are seeing a rapid decline in this intrinsic species.
The Southern Ash Wildlife Shelter team thank you for taking the time to read our story and hope you will support us in our goal!
All funding goes directly to the koalas in care and all donations over $2 are fully tax deductible.
