Keys, Beats, Bars is a culturally responsive, arts integrated and trauma informed audio/visual and holistic youth music program. This program is part of a community partnership started by the Northwest Alliance for Alternative Media and Education (www.naame.org) and the Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Relations from Oregon Youth Authority.
KBB is a music program offering multicultural music programming to youth from all walks of like in including, foster, immigrant and youth in juvenile detention such as Donald E. Long in Portland.
The program was piloted in 2016 at the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility and soon to be offered in the Portland, OR community!
Budget Breakdown
40% Instructors, facilitators, & coordinators
25% Audio & Video Equipment (computers, cables, interface, cameras, software, etc.)
25% Musical Instruments
5% Outreach Materials & Printing Costs
5% Social Media Outreach (website etc.)
We need your help to fundraise, every bit counts, help get the word out to help reduce recidivism and keep kids out of the school to prison pipeline!
