Modify a Kayak for a paralyzed vet.

I am a paralyzed veteran (USAF), who enjoys kayaking and kayak fishing. I'm looking for some funds to help offset the cost of modifying a kayak with either a modified pedal system or an electric trolling motor system. I hang out with a group called Hero's on the Water, and they supply the main equipment for the outings. Many kayaks use a pedal drive systems that are pedaled like a bike and I would like to see if there is a way to modify one of these systems to be pedaled with hand power. If that doesn't work out, an electric motor system would work. Paddling works fine, but my lower body has very limited movement and make it's more difficult to paddle for long periods and stability is an issue. Please help me make this happen. If you know someone or somewhere that may have some good ideas on how to modify the pedal system, please let me know.
