Thank you for regarding the first crowdfunding campaign of Karma Tengyal Ling, the 'Island of Victorious Buddha Activity'.
Welcome! We are a non-profit German Buddhist Institute near Berlin.
Our registered and approved association was founded 1977 in West-Berlin. In 1992, we moved 70 km north to the country estate of Ludwigshorst we could buy after Germany's reunion.
This tranquil place can be used by everyone for meditation, study and practice of the teachings of Buddha.
For over 25 years now, we maintain two meditation halls, a large free library and facilities for guests.
Public talks and weekend courses are held at Karma Tengyal Ling mostly by teachers of the 900-year-old Tibetan Karma Kagyu lineage :
The 17th rebirth of the lineage's Head, confirmed by The Dalai Lama, is Ogyen Trinley Dorje - The Karmapa.
'Karmapa' means: a person who performs the activities of a Buddha. www.kagyuoffice.org
Since The Karmapa's dramatic escape from Tibet to India, he visited several Karma Kagyu quarters around the world. 2015 he inspected and blessed Karma Tengyal Ling.
We have been working for some years now to make another home for Ogyen Trinley Dorje and his staff here.
And we want to preserve and progress what we have for future generations.
However, Karma Tengyal Ling is mainly run by just two people - Yogi Horst R Brumm (me) and Dr Brigitte König. And even Buddhists are not getting any younger.
We need to hire professionals to finish the work we have already done.
