Karen is on her way out, she's no longer conscience but she's in heavy sleep, her breathing is off. Please help by donating to this fund to help put Karen to proper rest. She has had a long stay in the hospital, leading up to hospice, and we hope to have a proper funeral for her. However all these expenses will ultimately land in her 27 y/o daughter's lap. Any little bit you can afford to pass along to her will be immensely appreciated! ~God Bless

Who is your story about?

My friend Kristin Dombrowski’s mother, Karen Dombrowski. Karen has been more than a rock to Kristin throughout her life, raising her only daughter as a single parent. It’s clear to many that they have an admirable mother daughter relationship. It takes a remarkable parent to have raised a daughter who has been sun a ray of sunshine in so many people’s life!

What exactly happened?
On April 2nd, 2019, Karen, received some devastating news, she was diagnosed with  Leukemia (AML) and has been hospitalized since.

Karen, wasn’t 100% on wanting treatment. There’s only a 60% chance of remission. She has been worried about life after remission. All the appointments, follow up care to make sure the leukemia doesn’t come back, possible bone marrow transplant, the money. She has started to give up hope even though she has been the strongest person and mother to her daughter Kristin, this cancer is taking over who Karen is.

With a push from lots of prayers, support, encouragement, and strength, a few weeks ago Karen agreed to receiving care to fight the cancer, she had several treatments of chemo.

However, this journey has not been easy, and has given up hope, she no longer wants care, she doesn’t want to continue on and the cancer has spread rapidly. We do not know how much time she has left, but we want Karen to respect her wishes, God’s plan and comfort her has much as we can with her remain hours with us.

Why are you starting this GoFundMe?
I am starting this GoFundMe because I have a lot of respect for Karen, she has proven to be a strong women. Kristin is like a sister to me. I want Karen to know she is loved and that her only daughter will forever be comforted in the arms of her friends and family.

Any donation will be used for following:
- Funeral expenses
- Medical expenses
- Transportation

I understand raising $30,000 is a lot but, it's a goal to aspire to achieve as a community.  Honestly anything would help, anything, couple dollars, whatever you can afford will be dearly appreciated. She's been hospitalized for over 20 days, medical bills are costly, we don't want to leave that on anyone. Let's please come together as a community and help Karen feel comfortable with what we can.

Their whole lives have been turned upside down in a matter of 20 days.
Karen and Kristin need all the hope, help, support they can get right now.

Please continue to pray for this beautiful family in tragedy!
~God Bless
