Thundarr The Barbarian: The Movie

Donation protected
I am making a 2 to 3 minute theatrical movie trailer for my proposed live action feature film adaptation of what is arguably the greatest Saturday morning action series of all time, THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN. I'm hoping to be able to show this trailer to some major film studios and get the feature length project greenlit (or at least put a bee in the bonnets of a few people in Hollywood to get a similar adaptation made). I already have a script, as well as several local film makers and actors who are interested in the project. What I need now is money for locations, sets, props, wardrobe, permits, etc. According to my contacts in the local film industry, this project will cost anywhere from $3000 to $5000.

For those of you who have never seen the show, imagine the best parts of Conan The Barbarian, Planet Of The Apes, Star Wars, and The Road Warrior all mixed together into one epic story. That is Thundarr! It's set in a post apocolyptic Earth, 2000 years after a rogue comet destroyed civilization s we know it. The world is now ruled by tyrannical wizards and populated by mutants and monsters of all descriptions. What is left of the human race is often enslaved and oppressed by these evil wizards.  Our heroes, Thundarr The Barbarian and his companions Princess Ariel (a beautiful, scantily clad Chinese sorceress) and (the Chewbacca inspired) Ookla The Mok, ride their horses across the ruined landscape, fighting evil where ever they find it.

My feature length screenplay is an origins story, explaining everything us old school fans always wanted to know, and introducing newer fans to the characters for the very first time. It explains where the mutants and wizards came from. How Thundarr, Ariel, and Ookla met. What kingdom exactly is Ariel considered a Princess. Where did Thundarr get his Sun sword, and why does it only work for him. How and why does Thundarr understand Mok-Speak. And many other questions. But first things first, which means I have to make my theatrical trailer in order to get people excited about the bigger project.
