Support K9 Aero's Medical Treatment

Anderson Police Department canine “Aero” has been suffering from an unknown infectious disease over the last month. Aero has lost a significant amount of muscle mass and weight across his entire body. Aero has since been pulled from service so that he and his handler can concentrate on Aero’s medical needs.
Aero is a three year-old Belgian Malinois/German Shepard cross who has been serving the community of Anderson since October 2013. Aero has been involved in the apprehension of over fifty criminals, found large amounts drugs and drug money, and conducted multiple presentations in our local schools and churches. Aero recently had his largest drug seizure of his career, locating 7.5 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a vehicle.
We have been working with several local veterinary offices including VCA Gateway, VCA Asher, and the Anderson Vet Clinic. All of the vets have provided nothing but the highest level of care for Aero. The vets have been working together in an attempt to identify the root cause of Aero’s medical problems, however have not yet been able to identify a specific disease.
We are currently in the process of researching the possibility of transporting Aero to the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine for treatment and testing, this however will be at a very high cost.
Aero’s medical care is funded from the department’s K-9 fund account. This account, and the entire APD K-9 program, is completely funded by donations received from the community. Aero’s medical care is quickly depleting the funds we had in the account, and he still requires additional testing, medications, and a potential surgery.
We are therefore seeking the communities help in raising funds to help cover the costs of Aero’s medical treatment.
