The American Larrikin Comedy Tour

My name is Chris Smith and I am a comedian from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After nearly a decade as an inner city educator, district cutbacks left me unemployed. Anyone that has ever lost a job knows the fear, anxiety and hopelessness that comes with losing a job.
Undeterred, I shifted my focus and continued to work on my craft. I recently toured the west coast and after a live stream of one of my shows was viewed by a manager from Australia, the offer to create a tour in Australia presented itself.
For roughly four weeks, I will tour throughout all of New South Wales, Australia. The intended tour will include roughly ten to fifteen shows, showcasing my material from the last four years spent headlining shows here in the United States.
We have developed a mascot (Koala Chris), created the contracts, purchased a tour vehicle, and now, we are at an impasse. That's precisely why I turned to GoFundMe.
"Larrikin" is an Aussie term for joker. I have always understood the power of laughter because my Mom suffers from JRA (Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis) and she always tells me that it's laughter that has more of an impact on her body, mind and spirit than any medication prescribed to her.
Comedy is my life, laughter is my addiction and The American Larrikin Tour will not only provide me with the funds needed to travel, develop merchandise, and the biggest element, to promote, it will allow me the opportunity to further develop the "No Risk Comedy Tour" with national headliner, Lonnie Bruhn.
