Letterlie Sound: Music Fund

Donation protected
To me, music is momentum. It's every emotion harmonized, fitting into a life that can dance to all of them. The fight and joys of everyday, to the sounds of tomorrow surrounding them. I was 29 when I decided to make music my career, but I remember when I was 12, when it became my life.

Hi, my name is Danny Haig, and I run a small recording studio out of NE Philadelphia, called Letterlie Sound. Over the last couple of years, I've helped with putting together free shows and charity events in and around the Tacony, Mayfair, and Wissinoming sections of the city with the help of The Grey Lodge, Yards Brewing Co., and the Tacony Civic Association. I've also used some of my free time to volunteer with Cradles to Crayons to help homeless and underprivileged children. Over the last 6 months, I've hit some rough times and I've had to start selling my equipment and will possibly have to close my studio. Helping to reinforce the community and make these neighborhoods a little better is all I've wanted to do, so with a last ditch effort, I started a fund raising campaign to save my studio. My dream was to record music, but it became so much more than that.

Finding music isn't hard, but finding music that defines you is how and why most people are who they are; It's a moment of clarity, revolution, and creative discovery. You become more than a child, you decide who you want to be.

As a 31 yr old child, I graduated from school, interned at David Ivory Productions (Sigma Sound, Aretha Franklin, The Roots, Halestorm), and started my own studio known as Letterlie Sound. After working with numerous artists like myself, I'm trying to show these uncreative, large recording studios that music is still from the heart, and not the radio-edited versions they carbon copy for us every second they get. It's time the world hears the kid around the corner sing a song, listen to a coffee shop guitarist without typing, and to stop telling the band across the street to be quiet just because they're loud...

Being heard is one of the few things we live to do, because sound happens...and we can be it.

Letterie Sound is young, and we just want to be heard. So we ask for your help, love, and support. More recording equipment means more sound and it's the livelihood of our lifestyle. Let's be heard, all of us. Every donation will be a sound, whether through handshakes and hugs, to recordings and releases. Sound happens.

So let's be it. Together.

Thank you.
