Hello friends!
My name is Correy Kowall and I want to serve humanity. Since I was a small child I was told that the privileges that I enjoy obligated me to a life dedicated to human progress. My singular goal in life is to create the means to empower the least empowered among us. To this end I have studied robotics and adaptive algorithms because I believe personal automation can help ameliorate the growing divide between haves and have-nots. I hope to create novel medical robots, advanced environmentally friendly at home manufacturing devices, personal assistive agents for cell phones, and highly adaptive controllers (like the one used by the Google Car only for winter roads or sand).

(A simulation of the basic conditions I believed to be necessary to evolve the robotic version of "ranching", the red agents are predators, the trees can be used as fences and the blue agents are herbivores. The green agent must use resources that can be exhausted: herbivores eating trees, carnivores eating herbivores etc., to produce its own children.)
(This is a mock up of one of my earliest designs for a parabolic solar "cracker" which generates fuel from sulight and water.)
(This is one of my designs for a 3-d printer that uses focused sunlight.)
I have been granted the privilege to attend the venerable St. Andrews University in Scotland to complete my Ph.D. in Robotics.
In order to meet my tuition bill I will need $3000. I only have scholarships to cover $1500 and my family is going to supply what they can. With your donation I will be able afford the first semester of my program. Given the opportunity I will be pleased to report my progress while I write my thesis entitled: "A framework for producing controllers for highly non-linear feedback environments". Please help me in my quest to benefit humanity.
