Justice for Family Being Torn Apart

After sustaining flooding damage to our home—and having to spend a year in hotels, with my parents in and out of hospitals, my father, a Korean Conflict Veteran, was taken hostage by a hospital on Long Island.  While my mother and I worked to procure a copy of my father’s DD-214 and come up with the funds to send my father to a rehab facility, the Counsel for that hospital underhandedly petitioned for Guardianship of my father (against our family’s and my father’s wishes), claiming he was “incapacitated,” even though nothing could be further from the truth.  The hospital then refused to release my father until after installing a “Temporary Medical Guardian” who permitted to have my father drugged with medications for which he had known reactions—even with the constant complaints that he was having side effects and without the knowledge of the drugs he was given, as we were not permitted to gain access to that “privileged” information.  The outcome was likely a stroke—as after that, my father remained asleep for almost 24 hours a day for three weeks, with his becoming completely immobile for almost the next year, and having had to endure various procedures and overcome numerous infections as a result of the treatment he received at what others have called the “Death Clinic.”

It is only recently that my father is beginning to regain a bit of mobility in his arms, legs, hands and feet, as we daily do exercises with him although he continues to fight Super Bugs as a result of the Unstageable Decubitus Ulcer my father sustained while at that hospital….  Now, as my father’s medical issues hopefully begin to improve, even though he is on a respirator, we are forced to deal with the legal ramifications of the placement of a “Permanent” Guardian of both person and property, who has in no way helped us.  The Guardian/Court has frozen any and all bank accounts, including the one from which my mother receives her Social Security benefits.  For over the past YEAR, my mother and I have had to resort upon the kindness of friends to permit us to borrow money for all of our expenses.  We have been evicted from our apartment—and have ABSOLUTELY no funds to live upon, so we are in dire need of help...!!!!

Now, my mother has just undergone multiple major surgeries at a hospital in Manhattan (and will likely need further treatment), but our funds have still not been released.  The judge who seems to be working alongside the Guardian refuses to release the money owed to my mother—and is essentially accusing me, my parents’ only child, of taking money, when that is the very thing those corrupt individuals are doing at present.  I was told by the judge to apply for Government Assistance, while he and the Guardian he appointed are now trying to secure my mother’s life under their authority, so that they can extract what is left of our family’s funds—and the house in Brooklyn that my parents worked their whole lives to acquire….

No lawyer is willing to help us for various reasons, either because payment is required up front, or Article 81 guardianship cases are not addressed, or, even worse, I was told that I could not receive a recommendation because it is not known who is “beholden” to the judge who is in charge of our case.  Our family is like a “sitting duck, waiting to be plucked” and NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING TO HELP US!  We are on the verge of losing our leased car, our phone, our belongings, our house and our family unit, etc.….  I am a perfectly suited adult, capable of taking care of both of my parents, without the interference of outsiders who do not know the first thing about my family.  After contacting the National Association to Stop Guardianship Abuse (NASGA), I have been informed that this is a common occurrence throughout the United States, albeit one that is only known to those who find themselves entrenched in this web of elder abuse.  I was told to make our story known as legislators must be made aware of this miscarriage of justice, and leave the rights of the family intact, without the interference of strangers who are only interested in benefiting themselves financially.

I am creating this Go Fund Me page to raise funds so that I might regain my full rights of caring for my father—and not losing my mother to the very same predators who are trying to find an easy way to steal money from the most vulnerable in our society….  They do this by claiming (falsely, of course) that the caregiver child (me) is incapable so that they can come in and destroy the family unit for the so-called “benefit” of the individual they are working to destroy….

We need IMMEDIATE financial and legal help and media coverage to expose this little known form of elder abuse except for those who have unwittingly become a part of it....

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
