Dear Friends & Family,
Some people touch your heart the moment you meet them. Wayne D. Blake, Jr. ("Bug") was one of those people. But don't let his nickname fool you -- Bug faced the challenges of his life with a warmth, compassion and sense of humor that instantly made you comfortable and glad to be around him.
Suddenly, we lost Bug on Jan. 1, 2015 at the age of 45, the same age as his father, Wayne Sr. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations towards a memorial to honor his memory and the many ways he's greeted the world with the twinkle in his eye.
Any amount of money raised in excess of the $5,000 goal will be donated between two organizations that gave back to Bug: Coalition on Temporary Shelter and Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.
The memorial service will be held on Sat. Jan. 10 at the Insight Institute of Neurosurgery & Neuroscience (IINN) at 4800 South Saginaw St. (at Hemphill Rd.) in Flint, MI 48507. The service begins at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch.
