Help Brady Get Home

Charitable Help for Autistic Young Man

My nephew, Brady Conway, age 21, has been overwhelmed by a life of autism. Our only wish now is for a medical miracle. My sister, Jay, his mother has always solely provided family support and care for Brady forcing relocation to Florida where he could get more help. The fight against Autism has been long and hard and never-ending. Research continues hoping that future generations may be spared. These handicapped children desperately need our help. The needs of autistic children are greater than ever.

On Christmas Eve Brady suffered a brain bleed and went into emergency brain surgery in Miami FL. Brady and his mother are in hopes of his receiving an air ambulance transfer to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where further advanced help and research can be completed toward his recovery.  Brady's mother has been working in the healthcare field, but at this time has been forced to give up her job due to her being with him 24 hours a day.  Brady has had a 2nd brain bleed and a 2nd emergency surgery. His mother has coordinated with the head of Neurology at UPMC and his case has been accepted. He needs to be placed on an emergency air ambulance flight to Pittsburgh from Miami. The cost is huge, anywhere from $16,000 to $25,000. He needs to get started with treatment in Pittsburgh and have his treatment and further research started, before something else occurs. If he does not receive help and quickly he could lose his battle. He is on a ventilator, in an induced coma. Due to his autism condition everything is very challenging if not impossible. He has been in an ice blanket due to high fever, has had near half of his skull removed due to neurological swelling and will ultimately have surgery to replace the skull once he can become stabilized enough and the swelling ceases. He has tubes everywhere and is in restraints due to the fact that he cannot move about and his non-verbal low-functioning autism prevents him from cooperating with any instructions. He also has a seizure disorder and he cannot have a seizure, so physicians are working to get a solution and to have him transferred to Pittsburgh. Please give this request serious thought. Your contribution, added to other contributors, can add up to real help for Brady. There are so many needs for his care and transportation by air ambulance to UPMC, Pittsburgh, one of the leading centers in the United States to help him. All this will take is more of that same commodity: money.   We ask for you help in any amount that you are able to contribute.  Thank you all for your kindness and prayers.  If Brady can get to Pittsburgh he may respond well due to our help.
