❤️Love for Josie❤️

Josie Jones was murdered for standing up to violence and abuse, putting her daughters safety above her own. This fund is to honor Josie who was a kind and compassionate person. Her priorities in life were her children, and her love for animals. She worked for many years caring for the health and well being of dogs. We want to make sure that Josie didn't die in vane by raising money for the two people she loved the most, her children. We are raising funds so that they can continue their education and live lives free of poverty and violence.

When Josie made the courageous decision to call the police on her abusive boyfriend, she was taking a major step to turn her life around. Her teenage daughter was thriving in high school, a cheerleader with great grades. And when Josie learned that the man who had threatened her was being released on bail, she knew she had to hide.

She sought help from her family and friends. Her employer and a client rallied and helped her find an apartment across town, her sister sent a little money. She and her daughter grabbed what they could fit in they're car and fled to their new apartment.

Mother and daughter had only 3 short nights in their new life before tragedy struck. The small apartment was modest - they had been able to move only beds, clothing and a TV. Kitchen supplies were donated by friends. But even in those three days, the two had begun to make plans for decorating their little home. They painted the daughter's room sea-foam green and made plans to save for a white bedroom set.

Josie had made some very good decisions, to turn an abuser in, to protect her daughter, to start a new life where she thought he couldn't find her. But despite her best efforts, she became a statistic. One in three women murdered in America are killed by a current or former partner.

We are raising funds to provide psychological services educational support for Josie's children. The worst thing that could happen would be if this senseless violence were to derail Josie's bright, college-bound daughter from achieving her dreams.

Please help us honor Josie's life and love, and to fight domestic violence, by supporting this fund for Josie's children.
