2016 Young Deaf Sports Personality of the Year runner up  Jodie is a profoundly deaf athlete with a big future!

Through hard work, dedication and rigorous training she has already achieved so much, but 2018 holds some amazing opportunities for her…

Hello to all my friends and family and any strangers that find themselves reading this!

Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Jodie Ounsley, I’m a 17 year old deaf athlete from Yorkshire. I Recently Competed for Great Britain in the Deaflympics in 100m and 200m in Turkey.  As well as athletics I also  represent Yorkshire and England u18s in rugby union.  I am studying at Loughborough college on an elite rugby sports program. Here’s a bit about my situation…

I was born two months premature, profoundly deaf and was fitted with a MED-EL cochlear implant at 14 months to support my hearing. I’ve always loved sport.

I have a few exciting opportunities in the coming months...

I been selected to represent GB deaf athletics in the indoor athletic championships in Belarus in March and then the outdoor championships in Germany in July.

i have also been selected to represent England women in the World deaf 7s rugby championships in Sydney, Australia in April.

 – but competing at these events are  self-funded.

Separately, I have started at a specialist residential rugby college , a pathway to my goal of a career in elite professional rugby. I intend to represent GB internationally and at future Olympics in rugby sevens. I currently represent club, Yorkshire county u18's, England North and England North 7s,  England u18s (15s and 7s) and the women’s deaf England team. As I’m only seventeen I don’t qualify for a student loan so need to raise £9800 for college accommodation for the next two years.

So I'm on the search for suitable sponsors. Ideally a company whom we can we mutually benefit. I believe I can represent your company in a positive light by representing girls / women and disabilities in sport. If anyone would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities for any of these international events please feel free to get in touch for more details

Thank you so much for your support! It would mean just as much to me if you could share this page with those you know.

Jodie
