JJH Elementary 5th Grade Field Trip

J.J. Harris Elementary School is located in beautiful Athens, GA and home to some amazing students! We are a high poverty school with 99% of our students qualifiying for free/reduced lunch.
The 5th graders are currently working to raise money that will help them attend a two night/three day field trip to Driftwood Education Center on St. Simons Island. It will give some of them a first time opportunity to travel outside of Athens, GA and have an experience they will never forget.
The purpose of this trip is to offer our students a valuable extension of classroom studies. They will have an opportunity to learn about marine biology, salt marsh ecology, reptiles, low country cultures, and other science related areas.
