Jeanne Moscariello's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On behalf of the Moscariello/Fontano families we wanted to let everyone know that Jeanne has left Yale Hospital on April 17th and is now at home surrounded by her family and friends. She is under Hospice Care and is resting comfortably.  The family wants to thank everyone for their love, prayers, support and generosity during Jeanne’s journey.   All monies that were donated will go toward any outstanding bills and family expenses.   Please continue to keep Jeanne and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Jeanne has been battling medical issues for over eight years now. In December of 2016, she lost the ability to move her legs and has minimal movement in her arms and toes. She is currently receiving treatment for multiple syndromes at Gaylord Speciality Hospital.

The long road of medical issues started for Jeanne in 2009 when her kidney function started to deteriorate leading to a kidney transplant from her husband, Ron (Sparky) Moscariello in 2010. The operation was a great success which led to Jeanne regaining her independence. Unfortunately in 2014 she started to reject the transplanted kidney, and in 2015 she was in total rejection. As she was rejecting the kidney she was also having issues with her blood counts to the point of needing transfusions in order to maintain safe blood counts. From 2015 to today Jeanne has been hospitalized for approximately 12 or more months. All the doctors have been able to do is treat the symptoms due to not being able to find a definitive diagnosis. All the best fit diagnosis are rare to very rare conditions; 1 in a million or more. She is currently receiving treatments for a Lupus-type Syndrome, Evans's Syndrome, and Sjögren's Syndrome. She will need to be treated for all of her conditions for the rest of her life. Currently she is at Gaylord Specialty Hospital where she is battling fluctuations in her blood counts as well as neurological issues that resulted in loss of almost all movement. Jeanne currently has minimal arm movement and is able to wiggle her toes. Her recovery is unpredictable.

With medical costs increasing and the need of medical equipment, Jeanne is in need of all the help she can get.

Jeanne and her family have gone through so much in the past 8 years. From all their family medical issues to major mold damage in their home, it would be great to give them the help that they need. The Moscariello's are a family that have always helped others while needing so much help themselves. Jeanne’s four children, Jeanne Fontano, Samantha Moscariello, Tom Moscariello and Veronica Moscariello would be so appreciative of friends who are able to help them get through this with a fresh start.

A Pasta Dinner will be held to support Jeanne on Sunday, April 9th, from 12-4pm at the AOH located at 91 Golden Hill Street in Waterbury, CT - only a hop and a skip from Prospect, CT.

Funds raised will help support possible home modifications and medical equipment for when Jeanne is able to move back home and continue treatments from there.

Tickets to the Pasta Dinner are $20 and will be available at the door, or by making donations online here, or mailing them to Webster Bank at:

Jeanne Moscariello Medical Fund
Webster Bank, N.A.
45 Waterbury Road
Prospect, CT 06712 Br #9

We will have a list of individuals who mailed in donations prior to the pasta dinner, or online, at the door on Sunday April 9th, at the AOH. We hope you can join us!

Thank you for taking the time to hear Jeanne’s story. Please give as much as you can to this beautiful, loving woman who is always the first to try and help others.
