Trying to get Upside Right

I purchased a vehicle in 2008 because I was doing well financially and needed to get rid of my previous used car. The vehicle I purchased turned out to be a lemon that I had no recourse with. I was desperate to get rid of the vehicle while it still had value, before the warranty ran out. So I traded for my current vehicle. And while the current vehicle is a stalwart car, I am making outrageous payments on it. To date, I've paid $12k on a car that was listed at $10. My creditor states that I still owe almost $16k on loan.

As if things weren't bad enough, my pay has been docked a substantial sum, due to my inability to pay on school loans, (in large part because of the ungodly payments on my vehicle loan) so that I am effectively working 40 hours a week just to keep the lights on and gas in the car. My savings are depleted, and part time evening work is difficult to come by.

So, I'm turning to crowdfunding to try and raise enough money to get a cash car to replace the vehicle I'm currently paying on. This will give me some breathing room by allowing me to stop making what has become "the second rent payment" every month. I will be able to get my financial house in order by doing this and stop hoping that nothing catastrophic happens because I won't be able to handle it.

I also want to make sure it's clear that I will want to pay back those that would consider this a loan once I no longer have this payment over my head. Please feel free to indicate gift or loan if you decide to donate. Thanks!
