Help safeguard officers from rifles

Hello to all.  I am a police officer in a very small town near a very large and violent city.  While our town is mostly peaceful, we have been seeing more and more criminals enter it to flee from other departments or to victimize the town’s people.  With these criminals have come an increase in dangerous, deadly firearms.  Just last week, two county officers were shot by gunmen with rifles, one being a fully automatic AK47 assault rifle.  A few months prior, I retrieved three stolen pistols in two days, followed by another AK-47 rifle.  Despite this, the town is not willing to put forth the funds to buy us vests which would be able to protect us from such dangerous weapons.  

I know there is a lot of bad feelings about cops right now, but for every "bad" officer, there are hundreds, if not thousands, who are good, upstanding men and women, just like you.  People who work nights, weekends, holidays, in the heat and cold, and for very little pay, to keep strangers safe.  Men and women with families and friends who want their husband, wife, brother, sister, father, mother, son, or daughter to come home at the end of their shift.  You have the chance to be an officer's hero, by donating to this fund that will allow a small department to buy vests able to stop bullets fired by rifles.  They are rated level III, which is three steps higher than our level IIA soft armor (will only stop some pistol rounds, while others can defeat the vest).  

Each set costs $175 plus shipping, making them just under $225 each.  They include two hard plates and a carrier, which an officer can throw on atop their uniform shirt and soft vest, giving them lifesaving protect when they need it most.  PLEASE, help these guardians go home to their families, just like they help you go home to yours.
