Lower escrow could save my home

HELP!! Back in 2006, I had it made… $190k in my retirement account, a family in good health or I thought. The day after Thanksgiving, my world changed forever. My husband of 43 years was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer with 2 to 4 weeks to live. We quickly got him into a special study at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The doctors said they had a procedure they could try, however Medicare and private insurance would not cover some of the thing that would be needed. So I began to withdrawal money from my retirement account. Well this continued for several more years, but I had my precious husband until December 26, 2010. Because of his willingness to go through these unregulated treatments, (see Chicago Magazine 2008 January) people now have a chance to live longer. Medicare now pays for some of these trial drugs. At the time of my husband’s death, my retirement account was gone. Now I am a senior citizen and on General Assistance and about to lose my home because I cannot keep up with my escrow account that raises my house payment out of my monthly income. I ask for only a little help so that I will not end up homeless as I used everything I had to keep my husband alive enabling others now to live with liver cancer. God Bless all.
