Project Iguanazul 10th Anniversary

Iguanazul: literature in native languages (magazine, nomad radio and handcrafted books) turned 10 years old in 2015! We want to mark the occasion with a celebration on the International Day of Mother Languages  (21st February) in New York City, where we are currently facilitating workshops around oral traditions, the revitalization on indigenous languages and handcrafted books for immigrants from Mexico.

 We need your support to continue helping Latino immigrants in the US recover their indigenous heritage! Funds will be used for the following activities:
·       A celebration and presentation of Iguanazul in NY on February 21st with speakers of indigenous languages.
·       Release of a special edition of handcrafted books (a compilation of oral traditions as told by indigenous language speakers themselves).
·       Five workshops around oral tradition and handcrafted books for speakers of indigenous languages in New York City.


 Iguanazul has received the following distinctions:

-Fellow, Internacional Youth Foundation, 2010, USA.
-Changemakers, Ashoka Social Entrepenur, 2008, Mexico.

-Finalist in Rolex Awards for Entreprise: Youth Laurates Program, Rolex Foundation, 2010, Switzerland.

Iguanazul: literatura en lenguas originarias (revista, radio nómada y editorial cartonera) cumple 10 años en 2015. Queremos celebrar en el marco del día Internacional del las Lenguas Maternas (21 de febrero) en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde actualmente desarrollamos talleres de tradición oral, revitalización de la lengua indígena y editorial cartonera con la comunidad migrante de México./
