Friday, June 17, he fell off the bed in a normal bout of derpiness. Unfortunately, this disrupted his spine. It seems to have pinched a nerve, slipped a disc, or potentially ruptured a disc. I have not currently taken him to get an MRI, as that is expensive.

 

Iggy has lost most of his control of his bladder and bowel function. He is in pain and scared. He cannot walk, as his back legs don't respond. He can still feel deep pain and recoils when pinched, which makes him a good candidate for surgery.

 

Iggy is currently undergoing crate restriction and medication therapy. The doctor has diagnosed him with IVDD. Prognosis is good for dogs who are diagnosed and treated early, with surgery being the best option for recovery. The sooner it happens, the more likely it is that he will regain full use of his legs without continued difficulty.

 

This GoFundMe will go entirely to his vet and care cost. Anything left over or unused will be donated to local animal care services and the Sunshine Corgi Rescue.
