On August 1st 2011 in Taize, France my life was forever changed, it's the day I met the love of my life Tracy Mckeever. We had an instant connection and just under a year later we entered into a Civil Partnership in Newcastle, England. It was the happiest day of my life made even more special by the presence of our family and friends. I can still remember how nervous I felt on the morning of the ceremony and the excitement of signing my maiden name for the last time. We had an amazing Honeymoon and returned to "normal" life by renting a lovely house and adopting a cat. The next thing we knew we were celebrating our first anniversary. In September 2013 having been refused a spousal visa on financial grounds we realised that I would have to return to my native land, South Africa in order to reapply. In November 2013 Tracy and I flew out to South Africa, we had two wonderful weeks together before Tracy had to return to the UK. It broke my heart having to say goodbye to her. In March 2014 Tracy came to South Africa to visit me. We decided to cement our relationship by entering into a marriage. On March 15th 2014 we were married on Seaforth Beach surrounded by friends, family and the general public! It was an awesome day and the memory is one that I will forever cherish. Soon after that Tracy returned to the UK and was able to return again in July 2014. This time we were able to rent a holiday cottage and had two relaxing weeks just enjoying each others company. When Tracy left South Africa I sobbed and decided that I couldn't say goodbye to her at an airport again. After much discussion over Skype, Tracy and I decided to move to Dublin, Southern Ireland. I had been attacked three times in South Africa and it didn't look like I could return to the UK until we were in a better financial situation. After months of job and house hunting, planning and packing the day we decided to move to Ireland October 26th 2014 finally arrived. I got to the airport fully ready to start our new life when I was told I could not fly. The Irish authorities believed that my intention was to return to England and not remain in Ireland. I couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that we were starting over and would not be moving to England. I was devestated. I stood in the middle of the airport surrounded by my luggage and cried uncontrollably. After a few weeks of rest and reflection Tracy and I have decided it would be best if she moves to South Africa. I have found a job, but unfortunately with the pound/rand difference my salary will not help to pay off our debt which we accumulated by applying for visas and flights for me. I plan to do a sponsored skydive on Tracy's Birthday next month to try and raise money to pay off our debt. In the current financial climate times are tough for everyone, but if there is any way that you can support my wife and I, we will be eternally grateful.
