Jacob Goldrich Family

This fund was set up to help the Goldrich family through the tragedy of losing a son.

A smiling, funny 6 yr old boy, Jacob Goldrich wasn’t feeling himself (experiencing extremely painful headaches) for a week or so before an MRI revealed a brain tumor near the base of his skull. Jacob, the youngest of 3 children was quickly scheduled for surgery where doctors were optimistic that he would recover successfully. After a 2 week struggle to maintain stability in his little body, his body lost his fight and passed away on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014. He was a shining light, and a joy to be around. His smile and laughter was contagious. He loved his family, playing soccer, and attending church on Sundays.

His Mommy, Wendy Goldrich is one of the strongest women I know. She is an amazing friend, a confidant, and the “second mother” to a steady string of babies and children who have the blessing to attend her daycare. Since her husband suffered a stroke about 4 years ago leaving him unable to work, she has singlehandedly cared for and supported her family running her day care business. Her day starts with the sunrise, feeding her animals, teaching and raising our little ones through out the school day until all our kids are picked up (which is frequently later then she is “open”). After that, she begins her other job of caring for and supporting her own family. Wendy is consistently there for all her family and friends, always helping where needed, always giving and never taking. Wendy does not have breaks, she cannot call in sick. If she doesn’t work, there is no income. When Jacob was admitted to the hospital, she did not leave his side, forcing her to temporarily close her business. Wendy has been such a help to us all, we do not want her to stress over what bills can go unpaid verses which ones cannot, and how to feed the of family with what is left. Let alone put gas in the car.

We have a goal to raise $20,000 in 2 weeks. Between Wendy’s circle of friends, day care family, church family, soccer and school groups, we truly hope this is obtainable, but will not stop until our goal is met!

The money donated will help the Goldrich family in so many ways. Aside from the medical bills and cost of end of life services which is substantial (unknown at this time but likely in the thousands), money donated will help the Goldrich family with their general household expenses, (mortgage, bills, gas, food, etc.). Living through the first Christmas after the death of a child in the family is difficult enough. We are hoping to ease Wendy’s financial stress so she can concentrate on her family’s emotional needs during the holiday celebration of giving and love.

Wendy also has a dream of expanding her day care into a school. Sadly, a second medical situation in Wendy’s life has forced her to put that on hold. We would like to give that dream back to Wendy. Her passion for being a part of young people’s development is infectious. All children past and future have benefited from her learning environment and passionate devotion.

Family and friends of Wendy Goldrich and little Jacob, we are raising money to give the gift of financial ease and healing time. Losing a child has to be the hardest and most painful tragedy Wendy and her family will ever endure. Wise people say we cannot buy time. I would like to disagree. With your kind and generous gift, we can buy Wendy the time that she and her family so desperately need. We would like Wendy to come back to her business when she and her family are emotionally prepared, not because of financial stress and pressure. Wendy has selflessly cared for all of our families and is the bread winner of her own. I am paying forward to Wendy for all the kind and wonderful things others have given to me in my time of need. This is what we do. Every single dollar adds towards our goal. No gift is too small.

Thanks and God Bless
