Hunter Terrell was a 17 year old, well loved Son, Grandson, Brother and Best friend and all over great Kid. He was called Home On Sat. November 22, 2014 following a car accident that claimed his life. Hunter Loved his sports and always gave his all in everything he competed in. He was just recently accepted into the National Honors society. His absence will leave a void that will never again be filled, His Beautiful smile and polite manner and upbeat personality will forever be missed. His Mom, Carmen Mestagh who is also Hunter's Biggest and Mightiest fan and Best friend works 2 jobs to provide for her family, I'm in hopes that raising enough funds will help her in providing Hunter with whatever may be needed to lay her beloved son to rest without financial worry. Many prayers are needed and welcomed for Hunter's family during this most difficult time. GOD speed Hunter <3

A 17-year-old McLouth teenager died Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County. Two children were in critical condition, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. on K-16 highway about a mile east of Oskaloosa.

Kansas Highway Patrol trooper Jacob Moomau said the teenager, identified in a crash log released later as Hunter Levi Terrell, 17, was driving west and attempting to pass a pickup when he lost control.

According to the crash log, Terrell was re-entering his lane after passing the pickup when he lost control of his Honda Civic, skidded broadside and was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban.

Terrell, who was the only occupant of his vehicle, was killed in the crash.

The adult driver and five juvenile passengers of the second vehicle sustained injuries. Moomau said two of the children were reported to be in critical condition as of 7:40 p.m.

Crash logs identified the Suburban’s occupants, all of Oskaloosa, as Carolanne Todd, 26; Erika Josling, 7; Teagan Josling, 1; Harlee Todd, 1; Jeremiah Copp, 6; and Blayne Josling, 10. All were listed as having sustained disabling injuries. They were taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center for treatment.

According to the highway patrol, it wasn’t known whether the Suburban’s occupants were restrained by seat belts or child safety seats.

The Kansas Department of Transportation said eastbound and westbound K-16 about one mile west of its junction with US-59 highway was closed from about 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
