About John Berchielli
John is a healthy 51 year old North Highlands native who is an outstanding community figure.
Over the years he has lead many noteable community programs such as the Serna Village Edible Garden Project that helped a complex learn edible landscaping and brought the community together.
John also helped turn empty school grounds into edible landscape at Creative Commons Art Acadamy in North Highlands.

John is also chairman of the North Highlands Visions Task Force and helps organize parades, North Highlands Jubilee, and the Annual Watt Ave clean up.
Ok you get it he's awesome! So what happened? John recently visited his Dr. for his physical. He learned that his labs came out excellent and his doctor said he was healthy. His Dr. then Suggested John get the "TDAP" Vaccination even reassuring him it was safe. John was administered the vaccine. It was only a matter of a few days he started to feel ill. By the 5th day or so he collapsed with a stroke and was diagnosed with Gullian Barre Sydrome, a rare syndrome that causes your body to attack every nerve in your body. Within 2 weeks being paralyzed he lost 30 pounds of muscle dissolved from his back and upper body. He no longer can walk or hold himself up. He also lost about 10 pounds in leg muscles as well.
He will be released next Thursday to home care where he will require 24hr supervision and assistance. There are allot of things hes gonna need to be able to come home this week that medical insurance isnt gonna cover!
