Hope for Ada

Donation protected
Ada is one of 8. She's an identical twin to Wren. They were born at 26 1/2 weeks...between 1-2lbs. It's a miracle they're alive! They're 2 now.  Ada was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, June 23, with a central line infection. Ada's gut doesn't work (intestinal failure secondary to malabsorption).  She has been fed through a central line (TPN) for 9 months. Despite multiple efforts to feed through her GJ tube (which she still has) a central line was placed to give her the nutrition she needs.  She became septic when her gut leaked some very dangerous bacteria (ochrobactrum anthropi and enterococcus casseliflavus), which is life threatening if not treated. The hospital pulled her line emergently because the antibiotics don't work when the bacteria has attached itself to an artificial source, like a central line.   A new central line has to be placed within 72 hours of the old one being removed. Her IV's are blowing quick and RN's are running out of places to put them. The heavy antibiotics required to kill the bacteria burn up the lines. So, she needs a central line ASAP.  Due to her acute needs and escalation of care, she is being transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, which has the #1 GI department in the nation.  CCH has a bed waiting. We are awaiting insurance approval for transport.  Two of Ada's sisters....Emmilou and Wren have high care needs as well. Emmilou has a trach, vent, and a central line. Wren, the least acute, has a GJ tube. My wife's care for our sweet girls has kept them alive, and she will be needed at home, while Ada is in Cincinnati.  Like many large families, we are a one income family. I am thankful for 2 good jobs (a chaplain with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and an Army Reserve chaplain). However, I will be missing both while I am with Ada in Cincinnati for an undetermined amount of time. The new hospital will be thorough in getting to know Ada and how to best treat her.  So, your financial help in the back and forth of travel costs from Lancaster County, PA to Cincinnati (for my wife and kids to see Ada), as well as loss of income from jobs would help us tremendously and relieve some of the financial burden.  We also need your fervent prayers.  Ada (and all our kids) belong to God...she is not ours....but His.  We do our best to steward this great gift given to us. So, pray for her healing. And pray for sanity for Erika, my wife, being separated from her baby, which will be extremely difficult.  We ask for God's peace over our entire family. We are humbled by your prayers and support! There is hope for Ada! Grace, The Trubey's  If you don't want to give through Go Fund Me, here are other options: 1. Google Pay ([email redacted]) 2.
