Hembras 2015
Hembras de Pluma is a collective of accomplished women of color storytellers, writers, and actors who write and perform original stories of identity, coming of age, life, love, and loss.
Hembras started as a group of friends getting together to write and evolved into a full-scale theatre production. After a nearly sold out run during the 2014 Women & Creativity series, Hembras de Pluma returns with a new show and a new cast of characters. Presented in partnership with the National Hispanic Cultural Center as part of the Siembra Latino Theatre Festival, Hembras 2015 brings you an enterprising chola, a reluctant stepmother, the return of Lola the grand dame of 1940s radio, and many other beloved characters whose stories will linger long after the curtain closes.
Show the Hembras some love this month with a donation. Your gift helps us to build our set, pay our cast and crew, print programs, and support our ongoing work.
Contributing Artists
Bineshi Albert, Michelle Estrada Allred, Maria Teresa Herrera, Michelle Otero, Valli Rivera, Monica T. Rodriguez, and Andrea J. Serrano.
