Please help Trisha, a young widow.

On June 28, 2014, young Trisha & Stephen Kuhn listened to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

This fun, young couple agreed to love each other in this way...to give each other fully to this kind of love.  They left their wedding ceremony confident in their love, and confident in their future.

For a few short months, I had the great privilege of working alongside Trisha.  She shared so proudly and so freely about her husband...for being "twenty-somethings", they were discussing rather responsible life topics such as "so just how much additional principal do we need to pay to reduce the mortage interest we have to pay?" They were determined to work hard to not only earn a living, but build a legacy and begin a family.  This couple was also helping another young mom and her kids, while strategizing their own future.

We'd be working, and I would ask her questions, getting to know her better - she'd smile and tell me about how she'd like to decorate their home, and some of the powder and paint renovations she had done.  She was nesting, and it was so sweet to take in.  She spoke so highly of her husband...it was clear this man was going to have a lot of bonafide backing from his young wife.  And this wasn't that ooey-gooey "la la la" kind of love that is unrealistic...this was just the truth, and it did not seem to be at all sugarcoated.

The last time I worked withTrish, she was looking forward to the holidays and decorating...her favorite thing, and the couples' first Christmas as husband and wife...

Tragically, November 29, 2014 was the last day of Stephen's life, as he was killed in an ATV accident .  What follows is from his obituary:

Stephen E. Kuhn, 25, of Lake City, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 as a result of an ATV Accident.
He was born October 6, 1989, a son of Stephen J. and Susanne R. (Kmecik) Kuhn of Lake City.

Stephen graduated from Girard High School in 2008. Following high school he attended and graduated with an Associates Degree from the University of Northwestern Ohio, in Auto Mechanics. Upon completion of his studies there he went to work at Penn-Erie Manufacturing where he was currently employed as an Apprentice Tool and Die Maker.
He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Albion and enjoyed trucks, mudding, building all types of vehicles and working on them in his garage.

Trisha and Stephen only had five months to celebrate their love and each other.

I cannot imagine how devastating that would be.  I cannot imagine my best friend being here one day, and gone the next. I cannot imagine wrestling with finances during and after grief.   And I absolutely cannot imagine the fear that would hit when the life insurance company refuses to pay 50% of the policy.

Can you imagine all the unanswered questions this young lady must have?

I'd like to help in answering one of those questions.  To raise enough funds to allow her time to recover, heal, and rest, knowing that bills are covered for at least 6-12 months.

Trisha is working, but of course the household income has been diminished.  Many people will focus on work to alleviate pain, to distract temporarily from things that are just too much.

Please help this young lady - let's help take one worry off her plate by helping financially.

I set a goal of roughly 12,000 - essentially 1,000 per month to alleviate the mortgage payment and/or bills for one year.   She'll be grateful for the relief of even one month, but at least six months would alleviate a huge burden of worrying about the future.
