Help the stanleys move!

Most of you will know and love Cooroy’s very own Clinton Stanley as World Down Syndrome Swimming Champion and local hero. You will of course also know his famous Mum Sue, who until recently has spent the past 26 years of her life committed to achieving great things for people with disabilities in sport. So committed was Sue that her tireless community volunteer work was recently recognised when she was awarded the Sunshine Coast Inspiring Women’s Award. For those of you who don’t know Chris, he is husband to Sue and dad to Clinton, also the guy who has mowed the grass for 29 years on their Black Mountain acreage property. He has been their rock, the quiet achiever and the one to keep everything together while Sue supported the community’s disabled athletes by way of endless fundraising, and while Clinton wowed us all with his fabulous achievements.

But sometimes bad things happen to good people and Chris has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s which means the family can no longer stay in their beloved family home for much longer. With both Clinton and Chris needing care, Sue has had to make some choices which will see their home being sold and a more suitable home built in residential care where they can all be taken care of the way they need.

To achieve this goal, it’s time the tables are turned and we as a community give back to the Stanleys’. Their current home needs some “tweaking” to be marketed for sale, and then there’s the moving costs and the list goes on.. 100 percent proceeds from the gofundme donations will go the Stanleys.

If you would all be a little generous to help the Stanley’s move, it would take the weight of the world off the shoulders of a lovely lady who has always given and never asked for a thing in return
