HELP ME MAKE A MOVIE!!

WHAT THIS IS ABOUT

My name is Maurice Hooks and I've been working on my first independent feature film. It's called BOOST and it's been a passion project of mine for a very long time. The inspiration came from The Fast and the Furious and Gone In 60 Seconds.  Seeing those films sparked my interest in car culture as a whole and I've been writing and rewriting the film's script since then. It started out as an idea for a music video and over time has expanded into a full length film idea.

WHAT IS BOOST
The story centers around Clutch, a college student and track racer. When he finds out that his mother can't afford to pay bills, he steps up and helps by getting a job, but even that isn't enough. To make some real money, he starts getting into illegal streetracing and boosting cars.

WHERE YOU COME IN
I'm slowly amassing the things I need to make this film a reality. I am involved in all aspects of the film including directing, writing, casting, location scouting and even music production. Needless to say, it gets pretty expensive. One thing I've been seeking for the longest time is Clutch's car, but it can't just be any car. I've found the perfect fit, but I can't afford to buy it at the moment.

WHY THE CAR IS IMPORTANT
There's a lot of reasons why the car is important to the production. In most cases, I have spoken with car enthusiasts friends about using their personal cars in the film, but for the main character his car will be seen the most and we need to make sure the main car is always ready to be filmed.  Having the car under the possession of the production will insure that the vehicle is present for all scenes it is involved in.

In a film like BOOST, the cars each character drives is a true extension of the character. Clutch is a guy that is more about how a car performs rather than how it looks and his car has to reflect that. BOOST was the first thing I wrote that I was truly proud of. It's been through a few title changes and many script changes. It's been with me since the age of 11, and now at 28 years old, I'm closer than ever to making what I truly think will be an amazing film. You can check out the trailer for the film at the top and a short scene between Clutch and his little sister Brooke below.

I understand that I'm asking for a lot from some people I may not even know, but any donation helps and I truly mean that.  Every dollar counts. Donate as much or as little as you'd like. If you are able to donate $50 or more, your name will be entered for a chance to win an invitation to the premiere. If you are unable to donate then please share this campaign or our other social media links however you can. The sooner we can reach our goal, the better chance we have to get what we need before it is sold.
