A few weeks ago I came across this man Jim reading the paper inside the atm area of my bank and hours later sleeping in the corner on the floor trying to keep warm. I asked around about him and a few people gave me some information including his name and history. Some of you might recognize him as the homeless man that sleeps by ps14 school on Crosby and hangs around 711 on Tremont avenue. I spoke with Jim on Christmas Day for the first time when I brought him a set of gloves, a hat, scarf and thermal shirt and some toiletries hoping maybe he finds the opportunity to clean up. He seems to have some issues and seems a few years behind for his age but he's so sweet and harmless. I don't even think he has an addiction problem he's just homeless. When I offered to buy him dinner he told me he just ate..he's that honest. Last night I saw him again trying to sleep and keep warm and I asked if he needed anything like a blanket and he said that would be great. My sister and I went an got him a pillow and a blanket and he was the happiest person! if you can find it in your heart and budget to donate money for Jim I would buy him whatever he needs and maybe even a warm place to sleep a few days as the cold weather approaches.
